Mr. Peter Obi Advised not to aim for a Single Term Presidency as the South East Can Have Her Two Terms Also.
Former Minister of State for Science and
Technology. Henry Ikoh, has urged Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023, Peter Obi to ditch the idea of a single term of four years.
In a statement, Ikoh said it does not reflect the political wish of Southeast stakeholders but rather his personal political ambition .
He said: “It is an aberration and infantile politicking for Obi to dream of a single term president if an opportunity comes up for the nation to desire a Nigeria president of Igbo extraction.”
“It is noteworthy that the zoning of the presidency between North and South is further micro zoned , and the elected president is expected to govern for two terms of eight years, a process that has been the practice over time except in the case of a natural disaster , impeachment, death or ill health
